Husband and wife team, David and Sue Ellis, head up this local, friendly organisation, working closely together to provide a comprehensive service to organisations across Hampshire, Sussex, Wiltshire and Surrey. David has been working in the industry since 1986 and brings a wealth of technical and project management experience to the company. Sue has a flair for design and colour, and combines this with her vast experience of office management to advise on both aesthetic and practical matters.

  • During 2012 SDI undertook 2 major refurbishments at our very large Distribution centre in Durrington, Worthing. The first was in our main office block incorporating our reception area, boardroom, IT suite, Finance and our large customer services area. The work ran for 3 months and involved major planning to temporarily relocate over 100 office staff in our organization, whom also service key functions within our Group and sister distribution operations. It was critical that all departments had minimal disruption to maintain this operation and SDI had to formulate a difficult balance between their workforce work and key milestone dates for LBS. The 2nd refurbishment has just been handed back to LBS. This was a slightly smaller office area within our site but the complexities of planning were maintained. David and Sue along with their SDI teams carried out a fantastic job at our distribution centre. Every milestone was met and SDI were very accommodating and professional working with the LBS staff in design inspiration as each project ran. The product design and innovations that were offered created a very modern and slick feel to our very tired offices. This has improved our corporate image and many our visitors comment on the very pleasing look. I would thoroughly recommend SDI for anyone wishing to undertake office / site refurbishments in a very competitive market.

David started working in the Interiors Business in 1986, when he was a fresh faced 24 year old lad. He’s never really lost his love of the business, despite spending several years working for Armitage Venesta, in the washroom industry, gaining an additional wealth of knowledge about toilets! When David is not visiting clients, or working in the office, he has a secret!….in his spare time he’s a bit of a ‘thespian’, performing in several plays at The Hayling Island Amateur Dramatic Society, most notably his sell out performance of Rene in ‘Allo ‘Allo…never to be forgotten by those who were fortunate enough to see it. He also loves to sing Karaoke when he’s allowed, and likes to build bonfires and listen to music in his very large Man Shed (which Sue is not allowed to rearrange) at the bottom of his garden.

Dianne

Sue has always been interested in design and colour, and drives David mad by constantly moving furniture and changing the colour scheme in their house. She is also a singer, and has been a member of The Portsmouth Choral Union for more than 25 years, performing in the South of England as well as America, Canada, France, Belgium and Germany. When not moving furniture or singing, Sue likes to take huge amounts of photos and presents them in her own customised, and very colourful albums.
